Utah Foundation History: 70 Years of Informing Utah’s Future

Utah Foundation celebrated its 70th anniversary with a luncheon at the Grand America hotel on September 15th. Those in attendance learned about the business leaders who felt a need for a non-partisan research organization to study Utah’s tax policies and other issues. Here’s a PowerPoint presentation that looks at some of the people and issues that brought Utah Foundation into being — and set the agenda it still follows today. 70 Years of Informing Utah’s Future

Utah Foundation also honored two pioneers in our community’s understanding of itself: Dan and Pat Jones. They received the inaugural Insight Award for their work in polling and focus group research as well as Dan’s teaching at the University of Utah and Pat’s service in elected office in both houses of the Utah Legislature. They shared some stories about their life and work with Utah Foundation Communications Director Dan Bammes. Here’s an audio recording of that conversation.
