Redistricting in Utah
The Utah Foundation’s redistricting tool provides individuals with the opportunity to pretend that they are on the Legislative Redistricting Committee and redraw Utah’s congressional district maps. It’s not as easy as it sounds. This tool will help Utahns gain a deeper understanding of the redistricting process. See the map below for an example of a map created using the tool.

“Redistricting news has been inundating Americans, with most of the discussion about Texas and California,” said Shawn Teigen, President of the Utah Foundation. “However, Utahns can see redistricting playing out in their own backyard. The Utah Foundation’s tool provides Utahns with the opportunity to create their own redistricting maps, allowing them to emphasize different principles. The question is: Can you do better than the commission?”
Local Government Perspectives
