Utahns quality of life shows slight decline, despite strong economy

November 16, 2015 (KUTV)

Utah is known for its religious culture and the great outdoors, it’s also slowly becoming known for bad air, traffic and even crime.

Monday The Utah Foundation, a not-for-profit, released its latest Quality of Life survey. Overall there isn’t a big change in the last two years, or even the last four years, but the change was in a direction, researchers did not expect.

The quality of life index is down a point and a half. It comes at a time when researchers thought they’ d see an uptick with Utah leading the nation in jobs and economic growth.

Quality of life is not decided by numbers, but how the 3 million people who call it home feel about their everyday lives. This year the numbers shake out to be a solid four out of five.
