Patriotism and voting patterns across generations in Utah County

Does identifying yourself as patriotic indicate whether you actively participate at the voting booth?

According to one study released July 14 by the Utah Foundation, apparently not.

The study, which surveyed more than 1,300 Utahns, analyzed how Utah’s generations compare to each other and how well they mirror other generational national trends in regard to values such as religion, the environment, gay rights and patriotism.

According to the study, though the majority of Utahns in all generations identified themselves as patriotic more frequently than their national counterparts, “this does not correlate with their level of engagement at the voting booth.
