A new study is out on Utah millennials and surprisingly they look a lot like millennials nationwide. Utah’s up-and-coming generation is breaking away from some of the stereotypes usually associated with Utah, but certainly not all. In large part Utah is still a right-leaning and very religious state compared to the rest of the country. It is however changing to reflect national trends with each new generation.
Millennials, Gen-Xers and baby boomers in Utah all carry a deep sense of patriotism according to a new Utah Foundation study. There is however one stark difference in that sense of patriotism: for Utah millennials, that patriotism isn’t enough to drive them to the voting booth. Researchers who poured over the survey’s from 1300 Utahan’s say Utah’s millennials are patriotic in spirit but don’t follow up in the voting booth and that, they say, is a problem.
