Leave it to bureaucrats to leave you standing there

According to an extensive survey conducted in 2014 by the McKinsey Center for Government, over 17,000 Americans gave surprisingly low satisfaction ratings to the services provided by the bureaucrats within their state governments. I’m afraid I would have to agree.

Here’s just one example. The State of Utah pays a large amount of lip service to helping Utah businesses compete globally. In 2012, the Utah Foundation found jobs and the economy to be the top priority for the State. Utah has established the Utah Global Forum, which “helps businesses learn how to adapt to today’s global marketplace.” We spend thousands and thousands of taxpayer dollars on trade missions, which “help solidify Utah’s position as a premier global business destination, open doors to new markets with international companies, and help Utah businesses break into new international markets.”
