Stephen J. Kroes, President: Recruited by the Board of Trustees in 2001, Steve came from Sacramento, California, where he served as Vice President of California Taxpayers' Association and was a manager with Synergy Consulting, working for state government agencies on technology projects. Steve serves as a member of the Governor's Council of Economic Advisors for Utah Governor Jon Huntsman, Jr. and previously for Governor Michael Leavitt. He has extensive experience in public policy research and analysis. Steve received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Brigham Young University and a Master of Public Administration degree from University of Southern California.

Laura L. Summers, Research Analyst: Laura joined Utah Foundation in May 2008 after graduating with a Master of Public Policy from Brigham Young University. During her master’s program, Laura interned for the Office of Economic Policy at the U.S. Treasury Department in Washington D.C. and the Department of Economic Analysis at the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget in Utah. She was also selected as a Presidential Management Fellow in 2008. Before attending BYU, Laura earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics and International Business from Westminster College.
